African rhythms • Jazz • Blues
Music without borders.
The Farlou Rhema Afro-Jazz Band brings together six musicians with roots in Senegal, Gambia, Sierra Leone and Ghana. Their music brings African melodies together with jazz and blues, with a mission to break cultural barriers, bring people together and make the soulful rhythms of Africa widely accessible.
The sound combines Afro rhythms, intricate jazz harmonies and Mandingue influences. Kora, balafon, saxophone and guitar come together in performances celebrating African heritage, improvisation, diversity and music as a unifying force.
